Ancient Corinth & Canal

This tour will take you for a walk through history, starting from the eleventh century, when the monastery of Daphni, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, was built. You will be able to admire its unique mosaics, representing the classical idealism of Middle Byzantine art. Afterwards, we will visit the awe-inspiring Corinth Canal, completed in 1893, that merges the Gulf of Corinth with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean sea. We will continue our travel through time with the ancient town of Corinth, which was considered to be the richest town of the world on the seventh century B.C. We will visit the remains of its market, where St. Paul used to preach, and also the temple of Apollo, one of the most astonishing monuments of the pre-Roman period. Our historical overview will end with a brief stop at the ancient port of Kenchreai, where St. Paul disembarked. One of our friendly, experienced drivers will pick you up at any time, in any place you desire with a new, comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle.
